# Badges & Tiers

Badges are visual indicators of a creator's or viewer's ViewCred level. They appear on profiles, next to content, and in comments — giving readers an instant credibility signal.

## ViewCred Tier Badges

| Badge | Tier          | ViewCred Range | Visual                           |
| ----- | ------------- | -------------- | -------------------------------- |
| 🌱    | New           | 0-199          | Seedling — just getting started  |
| ✍️    | Contributor   | 200-399        | Pen — active participant         |
| ✅     | Trusted Voice | 400-599        | Checkmark — proven reliability   |
| 🏛️   | Authority     | 600-799        | Pillar — established credibility |
| 🔮    | Oracle        | 800-1000       | Crystal — highest trust level    |

## Special Badges

* **🛡️ Senate Member** — Elected to the editorial verification board
* **🔥 Streak Badge** — 30+ consecutive days of quality contributions
* **🎯 Sharp Eye** — 10+ confirmed accurate content flags
* **🌟 Founding Member** — Early Phase I participant

## Badge Visibility

Badges appear in three places:

1. **Creator profile** — full badge collection displayed
2. **Content byline** — ViewCred tier badge shown next to creator name
3. **Comments** — Tier badge shown to give weight to contributions

Badges cannot be hidden — they are a public accountability mechanism.
