# ViewCred Cannot Be Bought

This is ViewFT's most important design principle and our core differentiator.

## The Problem With Purchasable Influence

On most platforms, influence can be bought: promoted tweets, boosted posts, purchased followers, token-weighted governance votes. This creates a pay-to-play dynamic where capital — not quality — determines what people see.

The result: misinformation from well-funded actors gets amplified, while truthful content from independent creators gets buried.

## ViewFT's Non-Purchasable Design

ViewCred is deliberately designed to be immune to financial manipulation:

* **\$VIEW tokens cannot increase ViewCred** — staking tokens boosts content visibility, but does not affect the creator's ViewCred Score
* **No ViewCred marketplace** — ViewCred cannot be traded, transferred, or sold between accounts
* **No pay-to-skip tiers** — there is no premium feature that accelerates ViewCred growth
* **Sybil resistance** — creating multiple accounts to farm ViewCred is detected and penalized

## Staking vs. ViewCred: The Distinction

Both systems work together: ViewCred proves *who you are*, staking proves *how confident you are* in a specific piece of content. Neither alone is sufficient — the most trusted content comes from high-ViewCred creators who also stake.

## Why This Matters

When you see content from a high-ViewCred creator on ViewFT, you know that score was earned through months or years of accurate, quality contributions. No amount of money could have bought that signal. That's a credibility guarantee no other platform offers.
