Staked Publishing

Staked publishing is ViewFT’s mechanism for creators to put financial skin in the game. It’s optional — but it changes how your content is perceived and distributed.

How It Works

When publishing content, creators can choose to stake $VIEW tokens:
  1. Select a stake amount (minimum and maximum TBD based on token economics)
  2. Tokens are locked for the content’s verification period
  3. If content passes verification → stake returned + bonus rewards
  4. If content is slashed → stake is partially or fully forfeited

What Viewers See

Every piece of content on ViewFT shows its stake status:
  • “Creator staked 500 $VIEW” — this creator put money behind their claims
  • “No stake” — content is published without financial commitment
This transparency lets viewers make their own judgment about the creator’s confidence level.

Algorithmic Impact

Staked content receives an algorithmic distribution boost. However:
  • Staking alone does NOT guarantee visibility — ViewCred Score is still the primary ranking factor
  • High stake + low ViewCred does NOT outrank low stake + high ViewCred
  • The algorithm treats staking as a confidence signal, not a payment for placement

Staking vs. Advertising

Unlike traditional promoted content:
  • Staked tokens are at risk — if content is misleading, the creator loses their stake
  • Viewers can see the stake amount — full transparency
  • The algorithm boost is proportional but secondary to ViewCred
  • There is no way to pay for guaranteed placement
