Community Moderation

ViewFT’s moderation system is community-driven, not centralized. Viewers are the first line of defense against misinformation.

Flagging Content

Any viewer with sufficient ViewCred can flag content they believe is misleading. When you flag:
  1. Select the content and choose a reason (factual error, misleading headline, fabricated source, etc.)
  2. Provide a brief explanation with supporting evidence if available
  3. The flag enters the Three-Layer Verification queue

Rewards for Accurate Flagging

If your flag is confirmed by the verification system, you earn:
  • +5 View Points
  • +3 ViewCred (building your credibility as a moderator)
  • Share of slashed tokens (if the creator had staked)

Penalties for False Flagging

To prevent abuse:
  • Flags that are not confirmed: no penalty for occasional misses
  • Repeated false flags: -2 ViewCred per unconfirmed flag after 3 consecutive misses
  • Coordinated flagging: detected by the system, results in severe ViewCred slashing

Community Voting

When content enters the verification process, eligible community members can vote:
  • Votes are ViewCred-weighted — a vote from a Trusted Voice carries more weight than a vote from a New user
  • This prevents Sybil attacks (creating many fake accounts to sway votes)
  • Voting window is typically 24-72 hours
  • Voters earn +1 View Point for participation regardless of outcome

Flag Categories

When flagging content, select the most appropriate reason:

Moderation Best Practices

  • Flag with evidence — include links to contradicting sources when possible
  • Don’t flag opinions you disagree with — ViewFT protects editorial perspective; only flag verifiable factual issues
  • One flag per issue — don’t flag the same content multiple times for different reasons
  • Be patient — the verification process takes 24-72 hours; repeated flags on the same content won’t speed it up
